Hypnotherapy is a lovely, gentle way of achieving deep relaxation and focusing attention so we can make positive changes in your life.   By guiding you to a state of relaxation and focusing your attention, we can access the subconscious mind where memories, emotions, and beliefs are stored.  This allows us to get to the root of difficult experiences you’ve had in life along with any painful or unwanted thoughts, feelings, or behaviors.

Hypnotherapy is not like it’s portrayed in the movies. I’m not going to make you cluck like a chicken or do something against your will. You are always in control and can stop at any time.  Most clients feel that it’s a peaceful way to bring about positive change in their lives.

WHAT IS A HYPNOTHERAPY SESSION LIKE?

During a hypnotherapy session, I use guided relaxation and music to bring you to a place of peace where we can access the subconscious mind.  Before we begin, you get to decide what we will focus on.  

Hypnotherapy can allow you to…

  •  Strengthen positive feelings like confidence, bravery, or inner strength

  • Change a behavior like quit smoking or overeating

  • Reduce a strong  emotion like panic, guilt, or shame

  • Get relief from a somatic complaint like chronic pain or digestive issues  

Reprocessing a traumatic or painful event

During the hypnotherapy session, I can guide you to go back to a time when you felt younger and believed things like:

  • I’m stupid

  • I’m not good enough

  • It’s my fault

  • I’m unloveable

  • I can’t handle this

Together we can find the source of the issue and repair it so you no longer feel the painful emotions or believe the negative beliefs about yourself.  We are able to resolve the trauma and reduce the impact it has on your life in the present day.

I record the session so that the client can listen to it and remember the positive parts of the healing experience.

Is hypnotherapy safe?

Hypnotherapy is safe when guided by a trained and qualified professional.  Hypnotherapy is simply a state of focused attention and you cannot be forced to do anything against your will.

Will I remember what happened?  Will I be aware of what’s happening?

You can hear the things going on around you, but you are in a very peaceful state of mind.  You are in complete control of your actions and can stop at any time.

Can anyone be hypnotized?

Most people can experience some level of hypnotic trance, but the depth varies from person to person.  It can change based on a person’s willingness, concentration, and level of trust with the therapist.

What qualifications and experience do you have as a hypnotherapist?


I am a Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist and am registered with the National Board for Certified Clinical Hypnotherapists. I have engaged in clinical hypnotherapy with many clients to successfully resolve their concerns.

How many sessions will I need in order to see results?

The number of sessions needed varies based on each person and their goals.  Some show improvement within a few sessions, while others benefit from a longer range of sessions.  We can discuss your specific situation and what to expect.
